Awareness program for school children has been organized by the Child Marriage Mukta campaign in Marjenahalli village in Kolar Taluk. Huahalli Nagaraj, president and campaign co-ordinator of the Young India Development Society, said education plays a vital role in preventing a rising child marriage. Only children can be safe and educated from school. So the government has put in place a number of schemes to bring children to school and use them to become better citizens. Parents must educate children without encouraging child marriages. Marriage should be completed after the age set by the government. Tahsildar and the relevant authorities will take action if child marriages occur.
